The Art of Writing: When the Pen Replaces the Laptop or Tablet
In an age dominated by digital devices, where typing on a laptop or tapping on a tablet is normal, the humble pen often finds itself relegated to occasional note-taking or signing documents, or the occasional Christmas card, yet the act of writing by hand is far from obsolete. In fact, it offers a unique set of benefits, both practical and creative, that digital methods can seldom replicate. This article explores the art of writing when the pen replaces the laptop or tablet, examining its impact on creativity, mindfulness, and the writing process itself.
Ireland: A Cultural Mosaic
I have always taken great pride in my career as a journalist. The skills my profession has provided me with over the years have filled my arsenal with countless experiences and knowledge that can be applied to so many different areas. Whether it be in Public Relations, Media Consultancy, or development in its various formats, websites or otherwise. I have always tried to be impartial and treat people with the same respect I myself would want to be shown.
What Really Matters when buying a Laptop? A student guide
Choosing the correct laptop for college can be a very daunting experience, particularly when a budget dictates your choices. It is more than just a computer; it is a primary tool for research, writing, communication, and often, entertainment, with a dizzying array of options, knowing which features to prioritise will ensure you get a reliable device that lasts through your academic year or two, without breaking the bank. Technology and devices require updates so often, in my experience, that where possible they should be replaced every two years if it is financially viable for you to do so.
Children and Technology: Life in a busy household, & balancing work in the Digital Age
In an increasingly connected world, technology has become an inescapable part of our daily lives, and for today's children, it is a native environment. The "digital natives" of Generation Alpha are growing up with tablets, smartphones, and smart devices as their first toys. This raises a critical question for parents, educators, and society: what is the true impact of technology on children, and how do we ensure they thrive - not just survive - in this digital age; without invading their privacy and with a promise of Digital Learning and Connection.
Putting Pen to Paper
I am considered what the vast majority of people might call an inveterate fountain pen user, and as with anything a person has a passion for, you need the correct tools to optimise your experience.
