About Des Doherty
Desmond Patrick Doherty – affectionately known as Des to family, friends, and audiences alike – is a long-time Broadcaster, Journalist, Author, Media and Information Technology Consultant.
He currently holds the post of General Secretary of the Irish Eastern Branch of the NUJ, having honed his craft across all areas of the media spectrum, including print journalism, radio industry, website design and development, computer language and coding, radio production, media management and finance.
Des has worked locally and internationally for organisations such as RTÉ and the BBC amongst others.
The author of two books, he currently resides in the beautiful picturesque heritage town of Kells in Co. Meath.
